Route. Oleg Gryshchenko
The artistic method of Oleg
Gryshenko - a successor of classic school of graphic - doesn't fit the rigid
limits of any definition. He is equally inspired working on personal themes,
like in his project "Route", and raising social issues by bringing them out
into the public space. The "Route" is a metaphor for the artist's nomadic
lifestyle and its further rethinking on various levels. His works on paper
filled with situational emotionality were created under the immediate
impressions of everyday progression down the Carpathian pathways. Series of
videos shot with an ordinary cell phone camera during his passages through the
mountains represents the mundane side of life. Art-book entitled "Post factum"
made at home is a weighted rethinking of the journey, or as the author calls it
himself, a "formal temperature analysis of a route walked on". All of this will
be presented at Ya Gallery as a part of the young artist's personal project.
Not limiting himself to the
space of the art centre, along with the exposition Gryshenko will be creating
"NArodU": a project designed as an attempt to formally conceptualize people's
prototypes in a symbolic and ornamental way and to appeal immediately to their
bearers. "NArodU" is a tale about a strange and dear to me people U and the
peculiarities of its establishing in the world of globalization. It's what lies on (NA) my roots (rod) and
what I would like to give to this NArodU." - that is how the artist
describes the project himself.
